Certificate III in Music
The Certificate III course is drawn from the CUS01 Music Industry Training Package and will focus on providing students with the opportunity to work in their chosen facet of the live music industry. Special emphasis will be placed on performance in local venues.
This Certificate III course can be worth 8 points to your QCE and is offered one day per week (Thursday) over 2 years.
Program of study
- Instrumental Major - guitar, bass guitar, drums, keyboards, vocals.Violin players are encouraged to apply as we see great potential for fiddle playing.
- Performance Studies - Songwriting, live public performances, developing a repertoire, accompanying other performers.
- Music Technology - Record a song using Garageband and/or ProTools, using MIDI, using on-stage technology (PA, amplifiers, mixers, mics).
- Music Industry Studies - About copyright, health, safety and security in the music industry, general music industry knowledge, critical listening skills.
- The internet and digital technology.
- Ensemble rehearsal - Preparing for life in the live music world.
