Some of the support crowd at the March First Sunday Concert |
The series of First Sunday Witeboard Concerts got under way on March 7th with a good number of artists and audience braving the inclement weather to spend a pleasant Sunday afternoon in the AICM Auditorium.
The concerts will be held on the first Sunday of each month starting at 1.00pm. Entry for audience members is $5 while performers pay $2. Performers will be asked write their name on the whiteboard as they arrive and this will define the order of presentation.
In keeping with our efforts to improve stage presentation in the Gympie area, performers are asked perform everything off by heart, ie the AICM stage is a no book zone.
Next concert will be April 4th so we look forward to seeing you then.

Bandicoots @ Tamworth 2010 - Guilty as Sin and Miss You
Tamworth highlights for the Bandicoots :) These are the best versions of the songs from our set list. It was a great week.

Attention songwriters!!!
If you are interested in playing your original songs for an appreciative and knowledgable audience, Htimakers 2010 is for you.
The AICM is keen to provide opportunities for success in the music industry for local songwriters of all genres and the starting point may very well be the Hitmakers nights to be held in the AICM Auditorium on the third Wednesday of each month starting next Wednesday, 17th March at 7.30pm.
Only original material will be performed and a panel will listen to songs and select material they feel may be suitable for sending to industry professionals for further distribution.

The Duke Wilde Band

Duke Wilde knocks 'em out at Billy's |
It was a big night at Billy's in Mary St Gympie last Friday. The Duke Wilde Band rocked their sox off at the first of their Honky Tonk Fridays. The multi award winning band consisting of Aaron Partridge, Nick Aitken, Linc Phelps and Jason Bray played their combination of southern rock and outlaw country to a full house.
"It was a great crowd" said Aaron. "In the early part of the night there was a wide age group of patrons including plenty of country music fans. It is great to have local support from a venue such as Billy's who even had the bar staff dressed up in country gear. We look forward to an even bigger crowd at the next Honky Tonk Friday".
Up coming Honky Tonk Fridays - April 23rd and May 7th.
If you are in town for the Muster this year, make sure you catch up with Duke Wilde at Billy's on Thursday 26th of August 2010.
